Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF, Kynar®) Heat Shrink Tubing

 

PolyVinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) is a chemical compound used in high temperature applications. It also has outstanding chemical resistance and its cut-through resistance is superior to that of almost all heat shrink materials. Maximum continuous operating temperatures can ranged from 150-175°C

PVDF Heat shrink tubing is available in two types: flexible PVDF (150°C), and a semi-rigid material sold under the tradename Kynar (175°C). We carry both types, which conform to either AMS-DTL-23053/18 Class 2 (flexible PVDF) or AMS-DTL-23053/8 (Kynar)

  • Continuous operating temperature 302°F (150°C or 175°C)
  • Superior chemical and aging resistance
  • UV and gamma ray stable
  • Flame rating: UL94V0 and VW-1
  • Plenum rated material
  • Only Teflon (PTFE) has a lower coefficient of friction
  • Flexible PVDF has AMS-DTL-23053/18 Class 2 (formerly MIL-I-23053) approval
  • Semi-Rigid PVDF has AMS-DTL-23053/8 (formerly MIL-I-23053) approval
